Identiv’s radio frequency identification (RFID) Multi-ISO High Frequency Reader with Keyboard Emulation offers a cost-efficient desktop solution for high frequency (13.56 MHz) standards ISO 14443 and ISO 15693 in a single device. In contrast to a traditional PC/SC chipcard reader, this reader provides a USB CCID-compliant interface with an USB human interface device (HID) keyboard emulation function. This enables to read the unique identifier (UID) and chip serial number (CSN) of any ISO 14443A, ISO 14443B, and ISO 15693 passive RFID tag and paste it as a string at the cursor position into any host application (i.e., browser, email, Word/Excel document, or any other customer application). This function is comparable to that of a commonly used barcode scanner. The device can be used without driver installation with Windows, Linux, Mac, and Android.
The Multi-ISO High Frequency Reader with Keyboard Emulation provides CCID and keyboard functionality in a single device. With an optional Java application available, it is possible to configure the keyboard emulation function (i.e., selectable delimiter and delay) and switch from automatic UID output to tag memory reading for ISO 15693, MIFARE Classic 1K/4K, Ultralight, Ultralight C, DESFire, DESFire EV1, NTAG 203, and Broadcom Topaz tags. The application also provides the ability to deactivate and activate the HID function.
